ReadSpeaker, the most trusted independent digital voice partner for educational institutions and innovative brands worldwide, has today expanded its text-to-speech solutions to include mobile app support for Moodle users in alignment with its mission to provide accessible content anywhere, at any time, on any device.

ReadSpeaker has longstanding experience with Moodle and became a Moodle Certified Integration Partner in 2022, allowing learners within the Moodle LMS to select and listen to content in over 50 languages with the click of a button, while using a complete set of accompanying learning tools.

The new functionality will integrate ReadSpeaker’s easy-to-use accessibility and engagement tools into Moodle’s App, as well as the Moodle Workplace App, for the first time – allowing users to seamlessly engage with content both in their browser and their mobile app for a coherent learning experience.

Juan Leyva, Head of Moodle Solutions at Moodle, said:

As one of Moodle’s Certified Integration Partners, we trust that the ReadSpeaker plugin for the Moodle Mobile App will empower educators and students with a more accessible, engaging, and inclusive learning experience, no matter where or when they choose to learn. We are looking forward to seeing how this integration enhances the way learners interact with content and improves their overall learning journey.

ReadSpeaker provides a wide variety of voices, translation into 50+ languages and dialects, focus tools, personalization of reading speed, highlighting and adaptable fonts, text size and color, word look-up, reading of OCR and images, and more.

Roy Lindemann, co-founder and CMO at ReadSpeaker, said:

At ReadSpeaker we are committed to optimizing educational experiences for all learners – giving all individuals equal opportunities to learn. We know that providing different formats for learning is a key aspect of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). By expanding our accessibility tools to include an in-app solution, we recognize that learners are increasingly looking at different ways to engage with their studies.

With worldwide education app downloads growing by 157% over the last 5 years, this innovative solution has been a welcome addition to Moodle’s app for organizations that have been testing its functionality.
