Moodle Marketplace has launched, replacing the Moodle Plugins Directory with a purpose-built platform designed to make discovering, evaluating, and accessing solutions that extend Moodle much easier. The change comes at an important moment for ReadSpeaker too. ReadSpeaker is now a Certified Integration Plus (CIP), strengthening our collaboration with Moodle and our role within its ecosystem.

From Plugins Directory to Marketplace

The launch of Moodle Marketplace is a direct response to deep feedback from the Moodle community and the changing needs of increasingly complex Moodle environments. As the range of available plug-ins grew, so did the need for a simpler way to find reliable, up-to-date tools and make informed choices about which solutions to add.

Moodle Marketplace builds on the traditional Plugins Directory with a streamlined and improved experience for discovering, evaluating, and accessing plug-ins. Free plug-ins remain available, while developers can also offer paid plug-ins directly through Moodle Marketplace, creating new opportunities to support the ongoing development and maintenance of their solutions.

For ReadSpeaker, this provides a clearer way for Moodle institutions to discover our Moodle Certified Integration and understand how it can support their accessibility and learning goals. Institutions can evaluate ReadSpeaker within the wider Moodle environment, helping teams make informed decisions about adding text-to-speech and learning support tools directly within their learning platform.

Bringing trusted integrations into Moodle Marketplace

As Moodle Marketplace makes it easier to discover and evaluate solutions, Moodle Certified Integrations help institutions identify tools that have been reviewed by Moodle’s own product experts against criteria including quality, security, compatibility, performance, and user experience.

ReadSpeaker has achieved Certified Integration Plus status. This means the ReadSpeaker integration has been technically vetted and certified by Moodle, with additional services designed to provide an enhanced experience for Moodle customers.

For institutions, it provides added confidence when introducing ReadSpeaker text-to-speech and accessibility tools into Moodle. They can choose a solution that has been independently reviewed against Moodle’s standards, while giving learners access to text to speech, UDL-enhanced content, accommodations, and accessibility tools directly within their courses.
