Queen Rania Teacher Academy
Making professional learning truly inclusive goes far beyond meeting technical accessibility standards. Discover how Queen Rania Teacher Academy is using voice technology to turn accessibility into meaningful, learner-centred experiences that educators actively use and value.

The Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) is a non-profit organisation founded in 2009 in line with the vision of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah. QRTA is dedicated to strengthening the quality of education by empowering teachers and school leaders with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to support future generations.
The Academy delivers evidence-based professional development programs informed by international best practices and current educational research. Its work supports educators across Jordan and the wider region, with a strong emphasis on reflective practice, inclusive education, and continuous professional growth. Digital learning plays an important role in extending QRTA’s reach and ensuring that training remains accessible to a diverse community of educators working in different contexts.
ReadSpeaker Integration
Accessibility is a foundational principle for QRTA, not only as a technical requirement, but as a way to ensure that learning content truly serves educators with varied needs, preferences, and learning styles. In professional development, access to content must be flexible, intuitive, and adaptable to real-world constraints such as time, language, and device availability.
To address these challenges, QRTA needed a complete and reliable solution that could integrate seamlessly with its existing LMS and digital learning ecosystem. Beyond meeting accessibility requirements, it was essential that the technology was intuitive and genuinely used by educators and staff—enabling them to adapt learning experiences to their individual needs, contexts, and preferences.
By integrating ReadSpeaker into its LMS and digital learning platforms, QRTA has enhanced how educators interact with training materials. Text to speech allows content to be experienced in multiple ways, supporting comprehension, focus, and engagement across different contexts.
Amjad Abu Hilal, Senior Technology & eLearning Manager at QRTA, explains:
“ReadSpeaker has added a meaningful dimension to our digital learning experience—making content more accessible, inclusive, and easier to engage with educators across different contexts and needs. Its seamless integration with our LMS and learning platform, and its ability to function across devices, ensures that our trainees have continuous, flexible access to text to speech and learning support tools.”
Beyond access, QRTA values how the technology supports autonomy and professional agency:
“What stands out most is how ReadSpeaker empowers educator agency. Trainees can listen, translate, highlight, and review content in ways that best support their professional learning journey. It is designed for a diverse community of educators and authentic learning experiences—not merely for technical compliance.”
For QRTA, the integration of text-to-speech reinforces a broader commitment to inclusive, learner-centred professional development—where quality content is not only delivered, but genuinely accessible and meaningful to every educator it serves.
Beyond achieving its accessibility and inclusion goals, QRTA has seen strong adoption and consistent use of the text-to-speech functionality among its learners. This high level of engagement reinforces that integrating ReadSpeaker was the right decision—not only from an accessibility standpoint, but as a practical response to how educators actually want and need to interact with learning content.
The experience demonstrates that ReadSpeaker’s technology is an effective and scalable way to meet diverse learner needs, empowering educators with greater flexibility, autonomy, and confidence in their professional learning journey.
